RiverFest
Community event on the Wrightsville riverfront
RiverFest is an annual event on the last Sunday in June to commemorate the burning of the Columbia-Wrightsville Bridge during the Civil War on June 28, 1863. It is held on the grounds of the John Wright Restaurant and features music, food, history, and spectacular views along the Susquehanna River.
The event concludes at dusk with a ceremony and lighting of bonfires on the former bridge piers to commemorate the burning of the bridge.
