The Conejohela Flats are a combination of small brushy islands and adjacent mud flats on the Susquehanna River. The Conejohela Flats Important Bird Area is recognized by the National Audubon Society and is one of the most significant inland stopover sites in the eastern United States for tens of thousands of shorebirds. The flats are part of the Atlantic Flyway.
