Columbia River Park

Borough Park and water trail access

Located a few blocks from the center of historic Columbia, Columbia River Park features a canoe & kayak launch and a boat launch. Once considered as a location for the nation’s capital, Columbia was a hub of transportation, commerce and industry throughout much of the 19th century and continues to be an active community today. Parking surrounding Columbia River Park has recently been expanded. Visitors can park in front of Columbia Crossing River Trails Center and next to Columbia Water Company.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, only vehicles with trailers are permitted to park in the long spaces surrounding the boat launch area.

PFBC Un-powered Boat Launch Permits are required for paddlers using this access.

The water access point is part of the 53-mile Susquehanna Water Trail – Lower section, which is managed by Susquehanna Heritage and designated as a National Recreation Trail.
